About the Pastor:

Born in Christ Church, Barbados, Bishop Dr. Lionel A. Whitehall is the son of Lloyd C. Whitehall and Daphne Whitehall. Bishop Whitehall, at age 12 migrated to Clewiston, Florida with his family and completed his high school education at Clewiston High, where he was voted "Most Likely to Succeed" by his class. He spent six years in the military and, upon his honorable discharge, moved to Palm Beach County where he has resided for the past 25 years. Royal Palm Beach, Florida, has been his home for most of those years. He is the proud father of three children, Nicholas, Ashley and Jonathan.

Bishop Whitehall retired from Western Southern Financial as a Financial Representative after 28 years of service.  He spent 35 years in Finance and Insurance.

Bishop Whitehall got his start in the ministry 25 years ago and, because of his heart for people and spirit of excellence, God promoted him to Deacon, Minister and, eventually, to Elder. He became a Youth Leader and, it was in this role, that he discovered his passion for mentoring the youth and for saving souls.

In 2011, shortly after answering God's call to shepherd His people, Bishop lost his beloved twin brother, Lindon, who had planned to walk with him in the ministry. However, that enormous and devastating loss did not cause him to waiver. He became more determined than ever to follow Christ so he established True Deliverance Church of God, Inc. on July 3, 2011 where he is the Founder and Senior Pastor. He started the ministry in a room at the Royal Palm Beach High School with 20 members but God has richly blessed and added to the ministry, so much so, that we outgrew that space and have been blessed with our current location at the Royal Palm Beach Cultural Center. True Deliverance Church of God, Inc. is steadily increasing its membership and averages around 135 in attendance on any given Sunday. Bishop has baptized numerous believers and dedicated many babies since the inception of the church.

True Deliverance Church of God, Inc. has been blessed with faithful members who are committed to God, the ministry, family and the vision that God has laid out for the church.

Further, as we move forward in faith, we continue to look to God to bless the ministry spiritually, numerically and financially as we enlarge His Kingdom.

Bishop Whitehall was awarded an Honorary Doctoral in Ministry from Trinity Theological Seminary of South Florida in May, 2016.  He was inspired to continued his biblical studies and now holds a Bachelor, Master and Doctorate of Theology from Family of Christ Theological Seminary in September, 2021.
